As per tradition it is better to send the thanks note to friends, family and others as soon as possible. Imperfect note is better than a perfect note that is never send. For a wedding a couple can send thanks note within a month and for a birthday gift, it is better to send thanks note within a week.

Importance of Hand written notes

Always try to post hand written thanks card for personal touch rather than using a pre printed card. Try to use blue or black pen to write on the notes because it will look more professional and every one can easily read the note easily. The salutation on the card should be according to the relation with that particular person. Include a hand written return address on the back of the mailing envelope so the guest can easily guess who is sending the card.
