The stress of the wedding is not over until you have sent out these thank you notes. The first thing you have to know about sending thank you notes is that they are okay to be prolonged for up to three months after the wedding. But really, would you want to wait that long? If you are not that busy, you should not take such a long time to send out these thank you notes. Ideally, these notes are being sent out a couple of weeks after the newlyweds have returned from their honeymoon.

One way you can get this task done with is by having someone at the door of the reception give out these cards to their recipient when they start leaving the event. However, there are a lot of people who don’t follow this as this is an impersonal manner of saying thank you. There are even a lot of instances wherein these notes only contain a generic thank you and have been signed by the names of the couple.
